Dream Dynamics
Dreams are the bridge that connects us to the deeper spiritual dimensions of our self and the world around us.
For the ignorant, dreams are a window for glimpsing those hidden realms.
For the enlightened, they are the doorway for entering them.
It has long been known, since before the ending of the Atlantean age almost 13,000 years ago, that dreaming is not merely some obscure mental activity conjured by the brain to keep us entertained while we slumber, but is in fact a spiritual faculty that demonstrates our connection within the infinite all.
In ancient times it was commonly believed that dreams came from a remote supernatural realm and were cryptic messages sent by a god (or a goddess) to convey knowledge and wisdom meant to guide us in life.
Today, psychology calls that supernatural realm the unconscious and has ascertained that dreams are the most direct means of gaining access to it.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A DREAM?
At present, there is still some disagreement over the precise definition of a dream.
Concerning their origin, purpose and potential meanings, there is full blown controversy.
In the simplest terms, a dream is the experience we have with the awareness we obtain while our body sleeps.
Dreams vary in their structure and content, as does our ability to recall them after waking.
Nothing of important significance occurs in our lives that is not first foreshadowed, in some way, in our dreams.
This does not mean that all of our dreams are predicting the future, nor are they necessarily telling us what to do, but it should be recognized that in our dreams, wisdom and insight is constantly being conveyed from the higher mind to give us assistance in whatever is going on in our lives.
The higher mind [higher self] is like a bird flying high above the road we are traveling on, seeing vastly more and beyond what our conscious mind is capable of, and we have access to this higher perspective in our dreams.
The more we learn to recall our dreams, the more we can become aware of the unconscious motivations that influence our decision making in life.
When observed over time, dreams can reveal how our thoughts, preferences, and intentions work to accomplish our spiritual goals and further our life’s purpose.
WHY DO WE SLEEP?
To be clear… the body sleeps. Not the spirit. Not the mind.
Our metaphysical parts do not require sleep.
The need for sleep is, in a sense, a side-effect arising from our involvement with physical reality, because physical reality is a projection that needs to be continually projected to maintain its sense of realness.
Occupying this reality consumes energy, and the expenditure of this energy is felt in the body as the experience of getting tired.
Thus, a periodic disconnect of awareness in needed for recharging to maintain the projection.
In fact, this is why everything in physical reality deteriorates over time, because it’s not real.
Anything that is truly real does not deteriorate.
WHAT IS A LUCID DREAM?
A Lucid Dream is a dream wherein you realize you are dreaming… while you are dreaming.
In other words, you are dreaming and you know you are dreaming.
So, in a lucid dream, while your body is sleeping and your "semi-conscious self" is in the midst of a dream, something will trigger you into becoming fully self-aware.
In that moment of clarity, your dream-body (and environment) will "crystallize" and become virtually indistinguishable from physical reality.
With this lucid awareness comes power.
You are now in a position to exercise significant control over the dream.
Now, not only are you able to freely determine your own course of action and direct the flow of events, but with a little practice, you will quickly discover how to manipulate the dreamscape in ways that are nothing short of god-like.
For most of us, lucid dreams are very rare occurrences.
It is estimated that roughly 70% of people will spontaneously have one to three lucid dreams in their lifetime.
This means that many will never have them, and the unfortunate truth for those who do is that the experience is usually very brief, lasting only a matter of seconds, a minute or two at best.
However, this is not the case for all because, like most things, lucid dreaming exists on a spectrum.
At one end are those who never have them and on the other end are those who have them very frequently.
Some people are natural lucid dreamers who have them regularly — I myself am such a person.
I was, for whatever reason, born with the innate talent for lucid dreaming.
Regardless, Lucid Dreaming is none the less a skill, an innate spiritual faculty that can be developed and mastered.
In the same way that one must learn to walk and talk, learn to read and write, learn to ride a bike and drive a car, learn to play a musical instrument or perform a certain type of work, etc. – one must learn to dream lucidly.
And I’ve been helping people develop this skill for over 20 years.
THE DREAM REALM
The dream-space is a spiritual realm of manifestation that is only a small hop, skip, and a jump above our own waking reality, and we visit it every night as our body sleeps whether we remember it or not.
In our dreams, we are literally stepping into other worlds, other realities, other planes of existence.
If the dream realm does not qualify as a "spiritual" realm, then pray tell, what does?
The dream-space is, in every sense of the word – spiritual.
Modern man has forgotten this.
Many people presume that dreams hold no relevance for the waking world but dreams only appear bizarre to the conscious way of thinking, the unconscious is not bound by physical law.
We transcend time and space in our dreams. In an instant we can move from one location to another thousands of miles away.
We can go backward into the past or forward into the future.
We can perform astonishing feats of strength, we can fly, live underwater, or go to another planet.
We can meet with old friends, long-dead loved ones, historical or mythological figures, gods, and even the One Infinite Creator – GOD itself.
The dream-space is a thought-responsive realm of manifestation, meaning the content of our thoughts can form in front of or around us instantaneously.
The disciplined dreamer is able to use this feature to manipulate his dream realm in ways that are god-like.
We can create a world that is literally our own, having every bit of solidity and realness as physical reality.
A significant degree of spiritual integrity and emotional purity is needed to achieve this, but it is by no means out of reach.
Through mastering your dreams you can learn how to be alive while your body sleeps.
You can create a dream-life that is meaningful and fulfilling in ways that are unimaginable to the conscious mind.
Whole new worlds are waiting to be discovered—and created.
DREAMWALKING
"Dreamwalking" is a shamanic term used to describe the conscious utilization of dreams.
A "dreamwalker" is someone who has mastered the faculty of lucid dreaming to a high degree.
The adept dreamwalker can connect with their higher self and spiritual guides, and access the same wellspring of metaphysical knowledge that past spiritual masters have.
The akashic records can be visited whereupon you can discover the many lives your soul has lived, and see the world as it once was and how it will be.
You can visit the fairy realm, the inner earth, the sky cities, or pop into another parallel reality.
You can re-create and re-live past memories, visit with others in their dreams, invite them into yours, interact with ascended masters and other divine entities.
Best of all, we can use dreamwalking to visit what Jesus called "the Kingdom Within" and explore the divine realm in a way that is tangible to the senses.
And while in this kingdom, we can meet for ourselves, and integrate with, that ultimate source of all that is, the One Infinite Creator – GOD.
Learning to dreamwalk is a process, and more often than not, it takes many years to master.
The secret to success: practice, practice, practice.
